Graduation requirements: What you’ll need to know

Jonathan Bidirel

Jefferson High School’s graduation ceremony starts at 6 P.M, and will be held June 9th, 2022, at Swanson Stadium at Guilford. You’ll want to make sure that you are prepared before the ceremony, so you may walk the stage!

In order to graduate, you’ll want to make sure that you have done enough years for each of your classes. If you want to go to college, they may require you to do more years, but these are Jefferson’s graduation requirements. You will need four years of English, three years of Math, three years of Science, and three years of Social Studies! Some other required classes are three and half years of Gym, half a year of Health, and two years of CTE/FineArts/WorldLanguage.

Now – you will need 48 credits to pass; it’s pretty high. This is why you’ll want to make sure that you pass your elective classes too! According to Business Counselor, Mrs. Taci Juno: “Students seem to forget that their electives matter. Core classes alone won’t get you to 48 credits.“

So, now that we’ve got classes and credits out of the way, here are the tests you’ll need to pass in order to graduate: SAT, FAFSA, and the Constitution Test. Pay all of your fees, pass your classes, and you should be good to go! Make sure you have your cap and gown, and you’ll be ready to make your loved ones proud!
